How delicious do these empanadas look?! They were created by Chef Alex Peña, using his TM6! 🥟 He created a special recipe for the empanada dough himself and used our Picadillo recipe from #Cookidoo for the meat filling. ⁠

"No doubt this is your master kitchen appliance," he says. The Thermomix cut his dough mix time by 75% and created the perfect dough matrix unlike any other countertop kitchen mixer! ⁠

👉 Chef Alex Peña’s Empanada Recipe:⁠⁠

Empanadas Ingredients: ⁠⁠

  • 600 all-purpose flour⁠

  • 250 ml water⁠

  • 10 g sugar⁠

  • 4 g salt⁠

  • 2 eggs⁠

  • 150 g unsalted butter⁠

Filling:⁠

  • Figs & Brie⁠

  • Steamed Spinach (steamed in Varoma) & Cream Cheese⁠

  • Mushrooms⁠

  • Picadillo Meat Filling from Cookidoo (Link Above)⁠

Preparation: ⁠⁠

  1. Place flour, water, sugar, salt, eggs, and butter into a mixing bowl and mix 5 sec/speed 5.⁠

  2. Knead 5 mins/dough function.⁠

  3. Weigh out dough into 40-gram pieces and roll into balls.⁠

  4. Let dough rest for 30 minutes.⁠

  5. Then roll into an oblong shape, fill with about 30 grams/1oz filling. Fold dough over then pinch and pleat the edges.⁠

  6. If making savory empanadas brush with egg wash and bake 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.⁠

  7. If making sweet with sweet filling bake 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown, then roll in sugar.⁠

Serve warm & enjoy! 💚⁠⁠
